Otters stall Nith dredging proposal

NITHSDALE area councillors say they will continue their fight to dredge part of the River Nith in Dumfries town centre.
They are waiting on news from the Scottish Government after appealing a decision which turned down their application to remove tons of gravel.
Opposition to the proposals to clean up the Nith have centred on fears that otters use the gravel islands as a safe resting place.
